Side Hustles

During the pandemic, thousands of Australians were stood down or made redundant – meaning the money dried up.

But there are plenty of ways to make some money online to supplement income during unsettling times – or just because you are saving for something special. Whether you are trying to earn extra cash on the side, or you need to replace part of your income, here are nine tips to make money online from home.

Sell you own stuff

You can easily do a Marie Kondo at home and sell online your clothes, an old iPhone, old electronics, computers, video games or DVDs. Take a good look around your home, chances are there will be a number of things you no longer need that could be sold online. Use sites such as Gumtree or eBay to sell pretty much anything from dresses you no longer wear to old ski gear, kitchen appliances and furniture. Not only will you free up space at home, you can easily make some pocket money.

Become a home tutor

You can become a virtual tutor especially if you are good at maths. Some parents who are driven crazy by home schooling, would happily pay to have you coach their child on mathematics.

You can sign up for a ridesharing app like Uber. After all, hospital staff, nurses and doctors need rides to work. But you must make sure that your vehicles is properly sanitised after every ride. Keep a set of cleaning tools to sanitise after every passenger leaves the car. You may want to wipe your backseat with disinfecting wipes, use a disinfectant to clean the door handle, window buttons and interior door after each passenger as well. Wherever possible, passengers should only sit in the back seat. Use a hand sanitiser between each ride and wipe your steering wheel with disinfectant. Click here for more.
